Scholarship Program
The London Ex-Students Reunion and Memorial Association
provides scholarships to assist certain qualified
individuals with their continuous education.
The Scholarship Program is intended to be a living
memorial to all those who died in the London School
disaster of March 18, 1937.
Funding for the scholarships comes for the gifts of all
the friends of London School. The scholarships are
awarded from the income generated by the Scholarship
Fund and not from the principal as well as donations
specifically designated for the current scholarship
award period.
Eligibility
Any descendant of a person who has attended London
School or the descendant of a member of the London
School Board or any teacher, Coach or administrative
staff of the London School system or descendants of such
a person shall be eligible to apply for and to be
awarded a scholarship under this program.
An applicant may apply for successive years until his /
her program of study is completed.
Scholarships are awarded for college or graduate level
work after the completion of High School requirements.
Scholarship Calendar
1. All applications must be received by the Scholarship
Committee by January 15 preceding the particular school
year in question.
2. The awarding of scholarships for the following school
year shall be completed by May 1 of the preceding year.
3. The scholarship shall be for two semesters; Fall and
Spring.
4. Scholarships will be paid to the recipient only upon
submission of proof acceptable to the Scholarship
Committee that the applicant has actually enrolled in
the program specified in the application. Normally this
should be a Fee Slip issued by the college or university
marked “Fees Paid” form the semester involved. The
applicant must be registered for a minimum of 12 hours
of study for the specified semester.
